Photos: Are we in Canada? CID Harbour, so pretty

Sailing up from Shaw Island to Cid Harbour was just outstanding.  Mailsail and headsail up - 6-7 knots.

Gibbed a few times, as we came through the Whitsunday Passage.   Passed Dent Island which is in front of Hamilton Island.

Here are photos of the lighthouse on Dent Island for Sophie and Gary - wonderful aspect out to the Whitsunday Passage.

Dent Island Lighthouse perched on the cliff

Lighthouse as we moved up the Passage - looks speckie

How would you like to live in the houses on this cliff? Or work in the lighthouse?
Cid Harbour Entrance - started to get a little windy and rough, all the other charter yachts were motoring, we sailed in.  Wonderful Pine covered islands with beautiful azure blue seas.

We anchored overnight here and sailed into Airlie Harbour to stay at the Able Point Marina the next day- most expensive of all the marinas so far, with no extra services.
Are we still taking photos of the sunsets?  Can't help ourselves

View from our deck - we came back on 30 June and 1 July with our friends Chris and Pat, we sailed out from Airlie Harbour, with Pat's nephew Dan and his partner Belinda on Tinker.    Pat's sister came too.  Great to have the extra company.  Dan and Belinda took us on a great walk through the hills to another bay where we viewed the wonderful sunset.

Thick, heavy foliage, including hoop pines and wonderful aqua coloured sea

As we sailed in the mist cleared and the sun started pouring in

Cid harbour looked like a marina at night with over 20 boats in the harbour

Hoop pines have over 4 ' radius
