Leaving beautiful Carvarvon, we headed north on the back gravel road. Very interesting. Large crops growing here, so hopped out and took a few 'beans' off the 3 metre bushes - it was Chia!
Very isolated interesting farms along this route.
Emerald a large and very well set out town with lovely gardens, decided we didn't want to camp under the bridge with traffic going over all night so headed down the Capricorn Highway for 43 kms before a turn off to Sapphire.
Decided that we didn't want to collect a heaps of stones with tiny emeralds, so didn't do any prospecting here. Tiny town, nice for a relaxed time in the Free Camp Stop.
Met up with Carol and Les (also saw them at Julie Creek and spent a few fun times with them further down the track).
